Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Also called “straight bankruptcy” or “liquidation bankruptcy”, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is a form of protection for debtors to eliminate most of their debts and start afresh with a clean slate. It begins by selling your assets and distributing those funds to your creditors, settling as much of your debt as possible before “discharging” or erasing your debts.
Chapter 13 Bankruptcy
If you are seeking an option to cope with your overwhelming debts, you can use Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. It is different from Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in a way that Chapter 7 is designed to aid people with little income and high debt while Chapter 13 is ideal for consumers with regular income and overwhelming debt.
